We are limited by what our parents, friends and teachers can know and can expose us to. But they don’t know everything even though sometimes they think they do.

 

So if this is our life and we want to explore as many different choices as possible, then it’s up to us.

 

We need to expand our minds further than theirs. How do we do that is actually really easy. 

 

 

When you meet different people ask them about their job. And ask them about their colleagues that might have different jobs around them.

 

Just remember people love talking about themselves, so most people will be happy to tell you about what they do.

 

There are lots of people we could already ask. Make it a challenge that every week you find out about a different career type. 

 

Ask them detailed questions about what they do, like how much time they spend doing different things, what kind of people do they work with. What kind of people do they get to meet? Do they like it? What skills do you need to develop?

 

We can start with your parents friends, when they come over, ask them in detail about what it is that they actually do all day, and who do they work with and what do they do.
