What I wanted to share with you is how I have potentially secured a great job contact through Twitter.
I was one of those people who thought Twitter was useless until someone at work suggested I try it for looking for a job.
Must I say I was surprised to find my mum and sister already using it before me! This was certainly a wake up call!
What you have to understand is how important networking is when looking for job contacts. Networking tools you know may include business events and conferences or even just knocking on your next door neighbours door and introducing yourself.
Twitter is another one of those networking tools that you can use in your toolbox. What I like about it though is that it is instant and fast.
Networking through Twitter is really a breeze for a first time user.
I simply uploaded all my contacts from my existing email address book, and I was free to write messages to them.
I remember the second message I posted, 'Looking for work in the Internet Industry between Sydney and Wollongong. Have 5-6 years experience'.
That was then I got a reply from Mike Gardiner from CORE web design asking me to send more info about myself.
WOW, I thought. How powerful is this?
So, proceeding this, this is the email I sent to Mike:
